Due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, the club’s AGM took place on Sunday, June 7, online via Zoom meetings. Club Chairman, Tom O’Malley welcomed everyone and thanked them for their attendance. There was a minute’s silence for all deceased members including former player Kevin Bourke who recently passed away. Last year’s minutes were read before Secretary, Ailbe Coffey, gave a very comprehensive report on the club’s activities over the past 12 months including details of the club’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, which have been temporarily placed on hold. Treasurer & Child Welfare Officer, Micheál Lenihan gave an update on the club’s finances and child welfare. He encouraged everyone to enter the club’s €20 for 2020 draw, which will be a vital fundraiser to replace the club’s normal fundraising efforts, which have been stalled due to the current crisis.
The Election of Committee & Executive Committee members then took place. Tom O’Malley remains on as Chairperson, Ailbe Coffey & Micheál Lenihan remain on as Secretary & Treasurer / Child Welfare Officer respectively, while Dave Noble remains as Club P.R.O.
Ger Healy & Marc Barry stood down from the committee during the year and their service was acknowledged. The Committee members voted back in were Denis O’Sullivan, Richard Egan, Tim Coffey, Mike O’Donoghue & Lar Kennedy. Newly-elected committee members for the 2019/2020 season are Seán Ryan, Peter Coleman & David O’Brien. Good luck to the incoming committee for the season ahead in what continue to be exciting & busy times for the club both on and off the pitch, albeit difficult & strange times due to Covid-19.
