Following yesterday's Government announcement and the subsequent FAI statement, Newport Town AFC are implementing the following measures with immediate effect and these will continue until further notice.
UPDATE Aug 21 2020: The FAI has confirmed that one parent or guardian may now accompany a child under the age of 18 to a training session or match where it is deemed necessary.
- All schoolboy & schoolgirl underage training is a drop and go system. Please remain in your cars when dropping off and picking up your children and take extra care when driving on club grounds.
- Please ensure that your child’s coach has your contact phone number.
- Adult training members can park on club grounds and all players should adhere to government guidelines when travelling to and from training and matches.
- As before, all players should arrive fully togged, bring their own water bottles (clearly labelled to training / matches). Hand sanitising should be carried out regularly. The online attendance sheet and Covid Return to Play form for each team on our Club App must be completed before attending any training session or match.
- Training and matches will go ahead with reduced numbers and no spectators allowed.
- Clubhouse, dressing rooms and showers remain closed. The outside unisex toilet on the side of the clubhouse will be open during training & matches.
We know that lots of you are very disappointed & frustrated but these are strange & unprecedented times and we really appreciate your cooperation and support.
Please stay safe and help us by following these guidelines and hopefully we will be able to enjoy participating in and watching the beautiful game sooner rather than later.
