The countdown is nearly over to the first of this summer’s Newport Town AFC FAI Summer Soccer Schools, which starts on Monday, July 11.

All the playing kits & backpacks have been delivered. 150 footballs have been pumped. The pitches are in perfect condition. The dressing rooms are ready. The FAI coaches are all set to go. The weather forecast is good. Now we just await the arrival of 150 excited kids on Monday morning.

Just a few pointers for the week.

* The Camp runs from 10am to 1pm, Monday to Friday.
* On Day 1, registration will commence from 9.30am.
* There will be no scheduled lunch breaks but kids are welcome to bring a snack with them along with water.
* As the car park is going to be very busy, please co-operate with the stewards when dropping and collecting children in Derryleigh Park.
* The camp is fully booked, therefore we can’t accept any child that arrives on Monday morning unless they have pre-booked online.
* Lastly, fun, football & friendship is guaranteed and we hope everyone has a great week.

List of items to bring to camp.

* Your booking confirmation (first morning only)
* On Day 1, your child should wear their own training kit. For the rest of the week, they should wear their official INTERSPORT Elverys FAI Summer Soccer Schools playing kit.
* Shin guards
* Football boots and runners
* Rain jacket (we’re hoping this won’t be needed)
* Sun screen
* Name tag for your bag
* Any medication you may need
